Former Tennessee football quarterback expected to transfer

Former Tennessee quarterback Tayven Jackson is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to Pete Nakos of On3.

He appeared in 11 games, including 10 starts, at UCF in 2025. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound quarterback completed 200-of-315 passing attempts for 2,151 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions in his only season with the Knights.

Jackson played for the Vols in 2022, appearing in three games. He completed 3-of-4 passing attempts for 37 yards, while totaling 10 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown at Tennessee.

Jackson transferred to Indiana following the 2022 season. He played for the Hoosiers from 2023-24 and appeared in 13 games (six starts). Jackson completed 101-of-165 passing attempts for 1,263 yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions at Indiana.

He went to Tennessee from Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana. He committed to the Vols on April 28, 2021 and was part of Tennessee’s 2022 signing class.
